The Debonaire Mix | Vol. 04

When I started making these mixes, I made a conscious decision not to focus too much on current music (because there are plenty of other blogs that focus solely on music and do a fine job)--but HOT DAYUM, there's so much great stuff coming out these days I can't help but include some of it.

In this installment, we've got some sickkkkkk new music from -- deep breath -- The Black Keys, Janelle Monae, Broken Social Scene, Jakob Dylan, Sleigh Bells, The Tallest Man on Earth, and The National (their new album 'High Violet' gets better with every listen). And thrown into the mix are some oldies-but-goodies like Faces, Gram Parsons, and Kate Bush.

Here's the tracklist, ON YOUR MARKS GET SET GO:

'Texico Bitches' - Broken Social Scene
'Tightrope' - Janelle Monae
'Crown On the Ground' - Sleigh Bells
'Les Cactus' - Jacques Dutronc
'Next Girl' - The Black Keys
'Just Another Honky' - Faces
'Afraid of Everyone' - The National
'Hounds of Love' - Kate Bush
'Nothing But The Whole Wide World' - Jakob Dylan
'The Drying of The Lawns' - The Tallest Man on Earth
'Brass Buttons' - Gram Parsons
'Blue Beard' - Band of Horses

  1. How can you not love a music mix that includes Faces, Kate Bush, and Gram Parsons?
